Gosh, no body home?
I guess I'll begin with what I use for alternative help and healing. First I use a combination of Reiki with accupressure and reflexology...after one of my hours, folks are like butter and have to rest a while...I love it! I use many different stones and crystals also to help me with people's pain be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. I have helped some who have been given up to die...some I have lost. I work with the human and the animal; for what are we, as human, without our furchildren companions. I always make sure to get a full medical history, and am very careful to make sure the client understands I should be used in concert with a medical professional if necessary. I am not a dr or a vet but so love using alternatives to do what love to do. Next....

I think you can really get a lot out of using your own source energy to help others. You can visit doctors and specialists sitting there all day prescribing medicines but they never get a chance to really connect and really share their energy - to be 'in flow' - with others.
I've also noticed taking the time transferring energy to pets and animals makes them feel a lot calmer and happier. If this has also been your experience then I can see how this would be rewarding for you to do. The main understanding in my pursuit thus far is balance, and the flow that pushes us to recognize what is in balance and what is suppressed - and then to release it. In my personal experience modern medicine is based almost in total on suppression, where as a lot of alternative therapies focus on release. I often wonder about such therapies being called 'alternative' when at the core these are often the fundamental healing mechanisms in action. That's the perspective of someone who does not do professional healing such as reiki for work, but has observed both methodologies from the outside and made the above conclusions. I suppose seeing healing as a release to get back into balance was a major step in developing that perspective... I used to think of healing as helping, which is a bad assumption to go on since each person has their own idea of 'helping' those around them. But I won't ramble, it's just good to see some discussion starting up here again. |

Hi Sash, healing is helping IF the person wanting it is open to the experience the results, I agree with you, full heartedly, concerning the professional medical community. When I herniated 5 discs and could barely breathe without pain, they said "here have another pill" or "how about some physical therpy", which doggone near killed me OUCH! I found Reiki, accupressure, reflexology and oh...bliss..then I went for it and learned more and it became my life! I like my "job". it can be so rewarding and yet so heartbreaking too. I don't have to draw symbols, Tho I know them,, or go thru a huge preparation if I'm needed NOW, I can just focus and help be it, hands on or long distance. Maybe I'm a bit strange that way but it is always with me. I never have to "turn it on" so to speak. Make any sense? The stones & crystals I use enhance my healing, or if there is no Reiki session, they are full of it's energy and they work as they were meant to do on their own. Also I find the animals SO open to recieve and benefit.
