Default Philosophy to consider

Philosophy to consider

Unlike the other psi-disciplines, an effective healer does not in fact have direct control over the “healing energy” he or she uses. Often times I’m asked, why did it work beautifully last time and not this time? The reason is in the intention. Normally, when we fail to give an effective healing it is because we are trying stuff a tingling sensation we feel at our hands into the other person’s body—and it simply doesn’t work that way.

The philosophy of effective healing is not direct control over the health or wellbeing of an individual, but it is providing the needed environment that will facilitate health’s cultivation. Absolutely like cultivating the growth of a plant, we provide the raw materials, but we cannot force the seed to absorb any of it. All we can do, as healers or cultivators of the life force, is to provide an ailing body what it needs in plentiful supply. The healing itself happens on the individual’s own terms. So truly, to act with this philosophy we cannot rightly call ourselves healers unless we are healing ourselves, much more accurately, we can only call ourselves something like “healing cultivators.”

The art of healing is not the art of brute force or will power, but the subtle art of cultivation.

Cool.

My philosophy on healing, and life in general. I suppose.

is this:

I think, therefore I am, therefore it is and therefore it always will be.

I agree that basic healing can be done without any training at all.

I always cringe when this topic comes up. There are more complex situations where the cause of the illness/injury is on going. Sure, one can repeatedly heal the sore spot but that does not really deal with the problem.

A good example of this is possession (or negs). Sure its easy to push out the entity and replenish the body's energy. However, the other 23 hours a day the person is in a damaged state. In the long run, the entity wins.

I have run in to too many that think a quick treatment will fix every thing up. They feel fine for a few hours but then return to their problems.

Much of the advice given in forums like this one is very basic and woefully naive.

As a rule of thumb, if a specific problem reoccurs more than twice, then its time to look deeper to find out what is causing it (to reoccur). Then don't just go for another treatment, but also get some help with the cause.

Intention is important but sometimes insufficient. Normally if we give an ineffective treatment its because we intended to fix the symptoms, not the actual problem.

Post Hmmm....

I liked all three replies here. Many are the healers with no training and a natural gift. If you believe in Jesus and his ability to heal...he sure wasn't a Reiki practitioner, now was he? He had a gift. I know...the Reiki belief is one cannot do this without attunement....I'll respectfully disagree. They just don't call it Reiki...they just do it. Healing given with a pure and good heart is a good thing! Back in my Catholic days Father Buckle always call me a "selective catholic" because I wouldn't follow blindly the doctrine. Ah well..that's me still today over 30 yrs later.

I know several with this gift...the ability to hone into a hurt or pain and by touching or massaging it feels better. The point made about what happens the other 23 hrs is a good one. The person who experiences the "feeling better" has to take responsibility to take the good we give and improve their life the other 23 hours, or the healing won't stay.

When I heal, when I help, I give them something to take away with them. A token, a stone or crystal to hold onto to stop the world and try to recapture the feelings they had for that hour by themselves with me and the healing feelings. You'd be surprised how well that works.

I have also had days where a client say "well gee, that wasn't as good as last time". It happens, we can't force it in...be it my fault for not being focused or the person for being so blocked I can't get thru the wall. I respect all healing, make it my business to look into all forms. This world, now...it's in trouble. The lightworkers, the healers, the helpers are going to be needed more than ever.
