Default Becoming a Longstanding Member

Longstanding Members on this site gain a number of benefits, there are too many to list or even overview here, however this thread will outline the requirements for being selected to become a Longstanding Member.

This membership upgrade is offered through admin approval and cannot be obtained by other means. If you choose to you can apply for the membership upgrade once you believe you have met the requirements. Not all memberships can be kept track of, however we try to do our best and will complete these upgrades when it is evident that a member has exceeded the requirements but has not requested the upgrade. In most cases you should not to apply for the upgrade, however if you believe you should have received it and didn't then it is a good idea to apply. The requirements are as follows:

1. Excellent forum reputation: Once a large number of positive responses are given [by using the "R" reputation button in the top-right hand corner of posts] in response to a particular person's contribution their reputation level will increase. The minimum usual requirement for Longstanding Members is 3 green reputation pips under their username (regular users start with 1 reputation pip).

2. Forum participation: Members who are active on the boards will have a higher likelihood of having their membership upgraded.

3. Length of time as a member: The final requirement is set out to ensure that Longstanding Members are in actual fact longstanding in the forums and have not just joined last week. Prior to being considered for membership upgrades the particular member should have been active in the forums for a number of weeks in the past.
