My Story
Greetings. I am Soul. That is how I have come to see my ‘self’. In terms of the Human experience, I am a 45 year old male, living in a small democratic country. I am interested in OBE’s specifically. I am interested in other people’s spiritual experiences and beliefs. I consider OBE’s to be ‘spiritual’ but I do not believe in ‘paranormal’ events in as much as I know people have strange experiences, as I myself have, but I have come to the conclusion that they are something quiet natural rather than ‘supernatural’. This does not take the mystery out of what is occurring (as in OBE’s for example) because while I know of my own, and read other peoples experiences, I don’t really know why I experienced these, but have learned to drop presumption from the equation. This takes care of the tendency to ‘ooky spooky’ things. I am also interested in the Science of Ouija – I realize this is a touchy subject for many, wrought with all sorts of innuendo/presumption, but my own experience begs to differ from most of the comments I have read over the internet about it. There seems to be little to no objective evidence regarding ‘spiritual’ things, as most skeptics will be overjoyed to express constantly, but there is a lot of subjective evidence, which I maintain is everyone’s right to own as their personal experience. Together the subjective experiences shared, throw light upon this mystery of the unseen reality, Not all the planets line up for everyone on what is experienced, and what is presumed about the experiences. Some seem even to conflict with one another. In the end it really is about personal experience, but for me – and my own experiences, I would rather lay aside presumption in favor of fact. It is said, again by skeptics, that the brain is the source of all so-called natural and paranormal experience, including Consciousness, Ouija and OBEs – I consider this theory worthy of examination, but so far I have had no real earth shaking revelations regarding this theory, and until such time as the evidence shifts from hypothetical possibilities into indisputable factual reality, my mind is open to the possibility, and will examine the ‘what ifs and why’s”- as ONE possibility rather than THE only certainty. I look forward to sharing some of my experiences in this forum. Last edited by sash; 03-28-2008 at 07:57 AM. Reason: Deleted double-post duplicate for new topic |

It is true that in America especially, the Ouija is considered a game, and is sold as such. Indeed, it has a curiosity value, and as a communications device its common design is left wanting. This is my opinion, that if it is a way of communicating with the invisible reality, it lacks a certain respect for that reality in that it offers very limited communication parameters in which to interact. As far as your comment regarding being ‘young and silly’ I think this is very relevant. Our physical growth is still happening and youthfulness is often accompanied by impulsiveness and immaturity and presumption. Although I had heard of Ouija – the information came via Christian bias, and as such was tainted with ‘ooky spooky’ (Wooism – as skeptics do label it) and since I was a practicing Christian myself (from age 18 – although I was brought up as one) I regarded the Ouija ‘bad/evil’ on the word of others, whom I felt were more enlightened than I (leadership – influence) However, Christianity did no thing to protect me from the experiences I was to have, and indeed – it is my observation that I only began to have such experiences after I became a Christian. Naturally, when the experience first happened, I took them to those in authorities positions within the Church, and soon learned that the reactions to my stories were – in a nutshell – coming from a place of denial. No help from that department, which was very good in many ways because it compelled me to look for myself and find my own answers. The experiences (OBE’s) came first. The Ouija came later – very much a last resort, and well after the fact that I had discarded the bulk of information given by Church authority (based on their lack of ability to answer my questions on my own subjective experiences) and moved into self discovery. Ouija was a crystallization of that self discovery. But first – to begin at the beginning…. |
