Default The Crystal Bible

http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-Bible-.../dp/1582972400

After a lot of research I found this book to be the most detailed book on crystals/stones out there. I wanted something that covered all areas not just about the usual properties of each stone that you can find on the internet anyway, but also about the exact points you should place them, how each one should be treated etc. This book more or less covers everything you need to know without being too ambiguous and hurried like other similar books. It even has a section on using particular shapes of stones like spheres, pyramids etc something usually omitted by the usual new agey books...

Highly recommended to any crystal-obsessed person and noob alike! ;D

Yes Atom, this is by and large the greatest collection of information I have found. I have researched so much concerning stones, I have a few more or less than she but it is one I highly recommend.

Meh, crystals :P

*cynical grunt*

Our power is in the mind!

(If only I had the time to read all these books!)

Sorry I didn't mean to divert the conversation away from crystals.

I like to look at them, but I do not really feel a strong energy or affinity for them, other than that same sense of relaxation I feel when I see anything beautiful.

I've felt the same about crystals but that could be due to my limited knowledge and experience with them. Thanks for the link. The book looks like a good price and if atomheart and chrystalpaths gives it their approval I'll have to put this on my want list. I've wanted to learn more on the subject but didn't know where to look.

Edit... For some dumb reason I had crystallinks instead of chrystalpaths. Sorry.

Wikipedia might be a good start. As a plus they have some nice pictures to go with their articles on various gemstones

I think Ill probably buy the book too, thanks for posting that link atom, and Crystal paths for your good info and advice ;)

There's no better way to experience crystals than going down to your local new age shop, and taking a look at the stones there. Without knowing anything about their properties, just spend some time to look through them and pick the one(s) you feel most drawn to. Some will just call you themselves and twinkle in your eyes Put them in your hand and feel their weight and shape, you might feel some electrical sparks also. Once you are satisfied with your selection take them back home and soak them in salt water... then you can meditate with them while imagining their energy encompassing you. Try it, they might become your new best friends!

An even better way is to visit old mines and quarries and dig up the stones yourself.. that's how I got most of my stones back in the old days (mostly quartz and mother of pearl) had piles of boxes full of them although nowhere near crystalpath's collection!
